HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani met here today with Mohamed Abbou, Minister Delegate to the Moroccan Minister of Industry,Trade, Investment and the Digital Economy, in Charge of Foreign Trade and his accompanying delegation.
They discussed aspects of cooperation and the promotion of economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries and ways to develop bilateral trade and investment by enhancing communication between the private sectors in the two countries to serve their common interests.
Trade exchange between the two countries reached in 2013 nearly QAR 508 million. Qatar's exports to Morocco amounted to nearly QR 436 million represents in ethylene, sulfur and aluminum, while the value of imports for the same year amounted to QAR 72 million, including: cheese, yogurt, and garments.
The State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Morocco share a distinct economic, trade and investment relations in addition to a number of agreements in economic fields, such as the economic, trade and technical cooperation agreement signed in 1990, the agreement on encouragement and protection of mutual investments in 1999 and the convention on the establishment of the Joint Higher Committee in 1996.
