Ibrahim Mahlab, the president's assistant for national projects, has said that the Egyptian government will not tolerate random exploration for gold in the Eastern Desert and the south of Egypt.
The government is paying full attention to national and economic projects that serve the vital goals of improving the living conditions of citizens, supporting the economy and building new urban communities, Mahlab said as he inspected mining activities in the Eastern Desert on Tuesday.
He said that mining is one of the most important industry, adding that reforms have been introduced to support it.
He cited a new law ratified by the president to guarantee Egypt benefits from and optimally uses its mining resources.
