Saudi Interior Minister Prince Mohammad bin Nayef Saturday instructed urgent dispatch of a humanitarian convey to deliver aid offered by the Saudi citizens to Syrian people inside their country and in refugee camps in neighboring states.
This convoy will leave next Thursday and aims at helping the Syrian people who are exposed to harsh winter season either inside their country, or in camps in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey, said Dr. Sa'ed Al-Harthi, an advisor of Prince Mohammad, who is also the general supervisor of the national campaign to help the Syrian people.
Al-Harthi, in a statement quoted by the official SPA news agency, said the convoy was part of Saudi Arabia's humanitarian role towards the Arabs and Muslims.
He said more than 660 million riyals (USD 175 million) worth of donations and humanitarian projects were provided by the Saudi government and people.
