Trade deficit rose in the first 5 months of 2017 by 5.2 percent compared to the same period of 2016, according to the Department of Statistics (DoS).
It said that total difference between the value of imports and exports stood at JD3.879 billion.
According to DoS, the coverage ratio of total exports to imports stood at 34 per cent in the first 5 months of this year compared to 35 per cent in the same period of last year.
