UAE to increase Industrial sector role in GDP

Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy said today that UAE seeks to raise the contribution of the Industrial Sector in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country from current 14 per cent to 25 percent in 15 years. After inaugurating a new coating line for Emirates Glass (EG) here in Dubai, he said: “The strategy developed by the state aims at strengthening the industry, based on improving the industrial environment and engaging on projects in specific industrial fields, such as petrochemical, food and value-added industries.”
