The UN Industrial Development Organization has praised Egypt's strategy to achieve industrial development.
Mohamed Lamine Dhaoui, the director of UNIDO Business, Investment and Technology Services Branch, said the organization is outlining a joint program with Egypt to achieve industrial development.
Already meetings have been held with a number of Egyptian ministers to discuss cooperation in industrial development and technical training, Dhaoui said in a meeting with Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab earlier Tuesday.
Mahlab said Egypt greatly appreciates the role played by UNIDO to support small and medium-sized enterprises and upgrade technical aspects of industries.
He assured Dhaoui that the Egyptian government has taken steps to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SME)s through opening major outlets to promote their products.
Mahlab stressed the importance of boosting cooperation with UNIDO in the fields of technical education and vocational training with the aim to achieve sustainable industrial development.
