Chairman of the Arab Contractors company Mohsen Salah said work and initial preparations in the projects of the Suez Canal tunnels in Port Said were in process.
Giant dredgers from Germany are to arrive to serve the project. The first dredger will arrive in November while the second will come in February 2016.
The project comes within a national plan to develop Suez Canal region which was launched by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in August to turn the area into an integrated international logistics and industrial center to serve the region, Salah said in a statement Sunday.
The three tunnels are the biggest in the region, Deputy Chairman of the company Sayed Farouk said.
