The Minister of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf inspected the Eastern Farm which was engulfed by fire yesterday evening (January9).
He gave directives to set up an inquiry committee to investigate the causes of the blaze and submit recommendations to avert any recurrence of such incidents, the Directorate of Public Relations and Media said in a statement.
The Civil Defence fire engines rushed to the farm, which belongs to the Directorate of Agricultural Affairs and Marine Resources in the Northern Governorate, and put out the blaze which broke out at farming waste in an empty land.
