57 vessels transit Suez Canal

A total of 57 ships transited the Suez Canal in both directions on Saturday, carrying a total cargo of 3.400 million tons, Suez Canal Authority Chairman Mohab Mamish said.
The south-bound convoy included 29 vessels, while the north-bound included 28 ships.
Egypt inaugurated a new Suez Canal on August 6. The New Suez Canal is expected to increase the capacity of the existing canal and offer an important opportunity to boost the country’s economy.
