
Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Khaled Hanafi said that 80 big commercial chains and 1,350 moveable food shops will be inaugurated in most of the governorates within six months at investments of EGP 2.3 billion.
These are local, Arab and international investments that will provide 40,000 job opportunities, Hanafi said.
This comes as part of the first stage of lands presented by the authority of developing internal trade in the Supply Ministry to investors to establish commercial chains, logistical centers and modern markets, he added.
Establishing the commercial chains comes within an initiative launched by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to develop the industrial and production sectors along with attracting local and foreign investments, he said.
These commercial chains aim at providing food commodities at low prices along with more job opportunities, he said.
Cairo, Giza, Qalubiya, Alexandria, Gharbiya, Sharqiya, Menoufiya, Dakahliya, Fayyoum, Marsa Matrouh, Beni Suef, Minya, Kafr el Sheikh, Beheira, Ismailia and Suez are among the goverorates where the commercial chains will be established, he said.
