Albania needs to strengthen the law concerned with gas cylinder supply regulation, said Albanian central technical inspectorate on Monday, as it carried out an investigation on the causes of a gas cylinder explosion in a pastry shop in Tirana.
A gas cylinder exploded in a pastry shop near Don Bosko area in Tirana on Sunday afternoon, leaving over 20 people wounded, with one seriously.
The explosion took place in a time when there was much circulation in this area. The shop was completely destroyed along with windows and objects inside it. Citizens panicked and even people across the road were injured.
Asked about the blast investigation's progress, the inspectorate director, Ejana Xhixha, said there are unlicensed gas cylinders in the supply market and some gas cylinders coming from other countries are in bad conditions.
Xhixha urged Albanian consumers to boycott the unlicensed ones.
