
Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) Issa Murad, Tuesday discussed with United States (US) Ambassador Alice Wells ways to forge closer economic and trade ties between the private sectors of both countries.
They also discussed the possibility for the US to support small and medium enterprises as well as programs designed to combat poverty and unemployment.
At the meeting, held at the ACC, the two sides also discussed cooperation to establish business incubators that would contribute to creating job opportunities and developing less privileged areas.
Murad highlighted the strong ties between Jordan and the US as well as their support to Jordan in various domains.
Jordan's exports to the US stood at $847 million last year while imports amounted to $996 million.
The US investments in Jordan currently stand at $2.2 billion accounting for 8 percent of the total foreign investments in the Kingdom.
