Labour Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan will head the kingdom's delegation to the 322nd session of the Governing Body of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), held in Geneva from October 30 to November 13.
Bahrain is participating in the session following its election as ILO Governing Body member in June, 2014, which reflects the International Community's confidence in the kingdom thanks to the advanced initiatives and laws adopted under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's Reform Project.
The Governing Body is ILO's executive body. It meets three times a year, in March, June and November. It takes decisions on ILO policy, decides the agenda of the International Labour Conference, adopts the draft Programme and Budget of the Organisation for submission to the Conference, and elects the Director-General.
The agenda of the current session includes employment and social protection, social dialogue, and ways to enhance technical programmes development to achieve the interest of the three production parties.
The Labour Minister is expected to meet ILO Director-General and representatives of Arab and international labour groups.
