Botswana's inflation rate
Beijing - XINHUA

Botswana's inflation rate for September dropped to 4.5 percent, a decrease of 0.1 percentage point compared with 4.6 percent of August, Statistics Botswana said on Wednesday.
"The inflation rates for regions between August and September, indicated that cities and towns' went down to 4.3 from 4.5 percent, urban villages' decreased to 4.4 from 4.5 percent, while rural villages' remained unchanged at 5 percent," it said.
The country data authority said the annual inflation for September 2014 was lower than the 5 percent recorded during the same month in 2013.
The downward movement of annual inflation rate between September 2013 and September 2014 was attributed to prices increasing at a lower rate, especially the main components of transport and Food and non-alcoholic beverages, which dropped by 2. 8 and 2.1 percentage points respectively, it said.
Bank of Botswana has anticipated that external prices pressure on the local inflation will be mild in the second half of the year.
The central bank's midterm review of the 2014 Monetary Policy Statement published in August projected moderate expansion in the world economic activity, stable commodity prices and the dampening impact of capacity underutilization in major economies, will cushion the country's inflation
