Cambodia and Seychelles on Thursday inked six documents to pave the way for bilateral cooperation in the fields of politics, trade, investment, tourism, agriculture, and air services.
The deals were made during the two-day visit of Seychelles Foreign Minister Jean-Paul Adam to Cambodia.
"The documents will serve as an important foundation to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation for the benefits of the two countries and peoples," Ouch Borith, acting minister of the Cambodian foreign ministry, told reporters after the signing ceremony.
Adam said the documents represented a great step forward to developing bilateral relations in politics, economics, tourism, agriculture and air services.
"Seychelles sees Cambodia as a rising star in the Southeast Asian nations," he said. "Cambodia had a very difficult past, but it has built a very bright future."
Adam said the establishment of cooperation between Seychelles and Cambodia would offer opportunity to connect Southeast Asia to Africa.
He said Seychelles, which is heavily dependent on imports, will consider buying quality food products from Cambodia to feed its tourism industry, which is the island-state's key driver of growth.
