
Chairman of Amman Chamber of Commerce Issa Haider Murad, during his two visits to Austria and Slovenia, discussed ways to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between Jordan and the two friendly countries at the private sector level.
The talks, which were held in Austria and Slovenia, focused on the Kingdom's economic environment as well as its agreements with a number of global economic blocs.
Discussions which were attended by Jordan's Ambassador to Austria, Hussam Al Husseini and second vice president of the Chamber of Commerce, Nafeth Alian, also dealt with the legislative, economic, social and political reforms carried out by Jordan in addition to the private sector's role in the Kingdom's economic development as well as the foreign trade environment, especially its geographical distribution and commodity composition.
Murad also discussed with a number of senior officials and representatives of the private sector in Slovenia and Austria the promising investment opportunities in the Kingdom in sectors such as energy, transport, mutual industries and medical tourism, as well as its investment facilities like the industrial and private free zones.
He also invited the private sector in the two countries to visit Jordan to look into its available investment opportunities and possibilities.
Talks also stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between the port of Aqaba and the port of Koper in Slovenia in order to promote import and export of Austrian, Slovenian, Jordanian and Arab products.
According to a press statement issued by the Chamber on Monday, the visit to Austria included a meeting with the governor of the south Austria as well as ministers of foreign affairs, industry and agriculture.
A meeting in the Austro-Arab Chamber of Commerce (AACC) was also held and attended by the commercial attaché at the Austrian Embassy in Jordan and a number of CEOs of numerous companies, specializing in renewable energy and investment in the Kingdom.
On the sidelines of the visit, the statement added, the (Jordanian Day) business meeting was organized in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, during which a number of Jordanian officials voiced the strong Jordanian - Slovenian relations.
