Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hong Li on Wednesday said China continues its energy, economic and trade cooperation with Iran. He made the remark in his first press conference in 2012 when he condemned US unilateral anti-Iran moves and interferences in Iran’s internal affairs. “China-Iran trade and economic ties must not be affected by new situations and our trade exchange will continue as usual openly and clearly,“ he said. To a question, he said US imposition of embargoes on Central Bank of Iran will not affect Chinese companies’ activities in Iran because Tehran-Beijing trade exchange is not against the UN Security Council resolutions. The Spokesman reiterated that China is opposed to any country considering its own domestic rules as international ones. He made it clear that China will not support any unilateral sanctions against any country, because it believes Iran’s nuclear issue must be settled through negotiations and not imposing sanctions against the country.
