Council for national powers condemns Erdogan's word at WEF

The Egyptian council for national powers and elders under Abdel-Aziz Abdullah condemned a speech given by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the World Economic Forum in Istanbul about Egypt.
In a statement Monday, the council said that Erdogan has continued a litany of exaggerations and lies about Egypt.
The council further said that Erdogan is not in a position to give lessons to others about democracy and respect for human rights and appoint himself the guardian of them.
The council also urged officials to take a firm stance toward Erogan even if it came to cutting ties with his country.
Erdogan once again questioned the legitimacy of the Egyptian government in his speech during the World Economy Forum.
Erdogan said: “We see that in one country where the will of the people manifested itself, those who are elected with a vote of 52% are toppled by one of the ministers in the cabinet,” in reference to the ouster of former Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi.
He added: “That coup is legitimized by the international community.”
