Croatian state company LNG on Tuesday announced a tender for investors for the project of a liquefied natural gas terminal on its northern coast island of Krk.
Tender for submitting the bids will be opened on Dec. 15, while potential bidders will have a virtual data room with more details on the project on their disposal from Sept. 1.
Construction of the project will start in mid-2016 and last for three years. It was estimated the LNG project worth around 600 million euros (657.2 million U.S. dollars).
Last week, Croatian Government announced the construction of the terminal as a national strategic investment project so it gains top priority.
The terminal will have the capacity of 6 billion cubic metres of gas per year. Croatia uses around 2.7 billion cubic metres of gas annually, according to date from the government. Thus the rest of the gas will export to the European Union and countries in the region. (1 euro = 1.09 U.S. dollars) _____________________________________________
Al-Qaeda key figure killed in US airstrikehot 54WASHINGTONMuhsin al-Fadhli al-Qaeda operativeU.S. Department of Defense on Tuesday said that Muhsin al-Fadhli, a longtime al-Qaeda operative and the leader of the Khorasan Group, was killed in U.S. airstrike in northern Syria on July 8.
Al-Fadhli, who had previously been targeted and believed by some people in the U.S. to have been killed, was traveling in a vehicle near Sarmada, Syria, when he was hit by an air strike, said the DOD.
The July 8 strike was the second attempt to kill Al-Fadhli.
Al-Fadhli was the leader of a network of veteran al-Qaeda operatives, sometimes called the Khorasan Group, who are tasked with plotting external attacks against the United States and its allies, Pentagon spokesman Jeff Davis said in a statement.
He was a senior al-Qaeda facilitator who was among the few trusted al-Qaida leaders who received advance notification of the Sept.11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States, according to Davis.
Al-Fadhli was also involved in terrorist attacks that took place in October 2002, including those against U.S. Marines on Faylaka Island in Kuwait and on the French ship MV Limburg, the DOD spokesman added.
