Following the German parliament a majority of the Dutch parliament on Wednesday approved the new, third bailout package for Greece.
The parliament came back from summer recess on Wednesday to debate on the third emergency package for Greece with the government of Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
Prior to the debate it was already clear that a majority would support the agreement, but especially for Rutte's own party VVD the issue was controversial.
The VVD faction of the parliament remained against extra money for the Greeks, but had already accepted the agreement on a fraction meeting on Tuesday night. During the debate on Wednesday, the VVD refused to speak out explicitly for new aid, but the party also did not vote against a new rescue plan.
