Caretaker irrigation minister Hossam Moghazi on Tuesday received a Spanish delegation to discuss ways to benefit from their experience to implement a comprehensive security monitoring system on the River Nile.
The meeting dealt with details of implementing the new system needed to implement a continued monitoring on the Nile across the country.
Moghazi said that the project aims to monitor water quality and installations located near pump stations and border to solve any problem related to Nile pollution immediately.
The project consists of three main axes, including the monitoring of the Nile's courses and its main branches, hydraulic structures built along the course of the river and the ministry's strategic installations, he added.
Moghazi said that the Irrigation Ministry will coordinate with the International Cooperation Ministry to brief its officials on the project's details and provide the necessary funding.
