Egypt's Mufti Shawqi Allam left Cairo for Geneva on Tuesday, leading an Egyptian delegation to take part in the World Economic Forum 2016.
The visit, which comes upon an official invitation from the chairman of the forum, will include intensive meetings with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva Michael Møller.
The Mufti will also hold meetings with Head of the WEF Klaus Shwab and Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby.
The meetings aim at expounding Egypt's views on countering extremism and warning against anti-Muslim rhetoric across the world.
