Minister of Trade and Industry Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour issued on Thursday a decision reforming Egypt's side at the Egyptian-Indian Business Council.
Head of the Chemical and Fertilizers Export Council Khalid Abo el Makarem will chair the board for the coming three years.
According to the second article of the decision, Abo el Makarem will be required to submit a biannual report to the trade and industry minister on the plans and activities carried out by the council.
The Egyptian embassies and commercial offices abroad are also required to facilitate the work of the council and provide it with all needed information.
"India is one of the most important trade partners for Egypt in East Asia. Therefore, we should strengthen economic and trade relations with it," Abdel Nour said in a statement.
"Egypt and India have identical viewpoints regarding international issues, especially those on the table of the World Trade Organization," he added.
Abdel Nour said the re-formation of Egypt's side at the Egyptian-Indian Business Council aimed at introducing new cadres in a bid to boost bilateral relations with India at the economic and investment levels.
