
Trade Plenipotentiary at Egypt’s Embassy in Berlin Mohamed Khallaf said that Egypt’s participation in Fruit Logistica 2016, slated for February 3-5 in the German capital, would increase foreign currency in Egypt.
In statements to MENA, Khallaf added that Egypt’s pavilion, expected to be inaugurated by Agriculture Minister Essam Fayed, with Egyptian Ambassador to Germany Badr Abdel Aati attending, will exhibit products of 82 companies.
Egyptian exports to Germany in 2014 were estimated at 1.6 billion euros, while imports recorded 2.9 billion euros, compared to 1.4 billion euros and 2.5 billion euros respectively in the preceding year, Khallaf said.
As regards Egyptian vegetables and fruits’ exports to Germany in 2015, it reached 69.5 million euros, against 26.8 million euros in 2014, he concluded.
