Minister of Planning, Monitoring and Administrative Reform Ashraf el Araby said that Egypt's population will reach on Sunday 90 million persons, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
In statements on Saturday, Araby underlined that population growth rates should be decreased, adding that there are new four babies born every minute.
China adopted the one-child policy since the nineties before allowing families to have two children last year, he noted.
The population growth rates hit 2.6 percent in Egypt, while it reached in China 0.68 percent, the minister reiterated.
