Digital economy, innovation, and services are three main issues to be discussed by leaders of the 28-member European Union during their two-day meeting in Brussels, on Thursday and Friday. \"A truly single digital market would make a considerable contribution to growth and job creation in our countries, and will be vital for Europe to regain a global lead in these sectors,\" said the President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy, in his invitation letter to the EU leaders. \"We will also take stock of the progress on deepening our Economic and Monetary Union, including on the banking union, strengthened coordination of economic policies,\" he noted. On Friday, EU leaders will discuss the preparations for the Summit with Eastern European countries that will be held in Vilnius, Lithuania, November 28-29 and exchange views on the situation following the recent tragic events at sea in the Mediterranean involving illegal migrants from Africa
