
Belgian Ambassador in Cairo Gilles Heyvaert on Monday said the European market is thirsty for the fresh Egyptian agricultural products.
The ambassador hailed the success of the "Rural Development Support Program", which is implemented in Egypt in cooperation between EU experts and Egypt."
Heyvaert took part in a conference organized by Egypt's Agriculture Ministry and the EU on the achievements of the rural development support program in Fayyoum and Minya.
He proposed using roofs in the cultivation of light crops and vegetables, and expressed his country's readiness to provide expertise in this regard.
For his part, Agriculture Minister Essam Fayed said that the European Union is a key partner in the rural development in Egypt.
