French households consumption of goods rose by 0.9 percent in June compared to May data, the national statistics institute Insee said on Thursday.
Growth in last month's expenditure was driven mainly by dynamic food and textile and leather purchases which recorded 1.1 percent and 3 percent growth respectively.
French consumers had spent more in buying cars over the period, presenting a growth of 2.1 percent, after falling 3.5 percent in May while expenditure in energy inched up by 0.2 percent as " fall in consumption of gas and electricity ... offset a rise in consumption of fuel products.," Insee said.
On quarterly basis, March households consumptions of goods increased by 1 percent thanks to a rise in energy purchases, it added.
Manufactured product's consumption accounts for 25 percent of France's total expenditure of processed goods and services.
