
The number of Germany's unemployed population in November falls to about 2.87 million, pushing the unemployment rate in the Europe's largest economy hit a record low of 6.6 percent, Federal Employment Agency announced Thursday in Nuremberg.
"The number of unemployed people has continued to decline in November. The labor market has developed favorably despite moderate economic growth," said Frank-Juergen Weise, head of the agency.
German gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to edge up by 0.1 percent in the fourth quarter after a same growth percentage in the third quarter, according to the announcement of German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) on Wednesday.
