
Transportation Minister, Acting CEO of Economic Development Board (EDB), Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed, has met an official Russian Business delegation to discuss preparations for organizing Gulf-Russian Business Forum which will be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain in December 2014.
The Russian delegation comprises Chief Coordinator and Managing Director at Vnesheconombank, Coordinator of Russian-Bahrain Business Council (RBBC), Alexander Axenenok, Director of External Relations at the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Executive Director at Business Event Company and Head of Projects at Business Event Company.
The Russian delegation's visit comes to complement a Bahraini Business delegation associated HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, First Deputy Premier and EDB President, on his visit to Russia on 28-30 April 2014.
Transportation Minister highlighted the Gulf-Russian Business Forum, which will promote the solid economic cooperation relations between Bahrain and Russia.
The Russian delegation is scheduled to hold meetings with Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Tamkeen, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and other authorities.
Bahrain's delegation, which visited Russia last April, had participated in the Bahrain-Russia Business Forum that was organized by the EDB, Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Bahrain, BCCI, Russian Direct Investment Fund, Arab-Russia Business Council, Bahrain-Russia Business Council and Vnesheconombank in Moscow. During the event Mumtalkaat Holding Company signed a memorandum of standing with Russian Direct Investment Fund, in addition the Kingdom of Bahrain announced the provision of visa facilitations for Russian citizens aim to visit Bahrain, in a bid to encourage business and trade activities between the two countries. In line with the bid, Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, had announced the launch of nonstop air services between Bahrain and Moscow.
