International Monetary Fund (IMF) Senior Representative in Turkey Mark Lewis said that the cornerstones of the Turkish economy were solid and well. Lewis, who took part in a conference on \" Stability or Employment\" in western Izmir city, said that Turkey was becoming a major actor in global economics. Lewis stated that global economics had seen an interesting development in the past decade, and millions of people reached higher incomes. Lewis said he observed positive improvements in Turkey\'s public spending, banking system, and the strengthening of the private sector. He underlined that Turkish economy was in a good condition and it showed good resistance in a very risky global atmosphere. The cornerstones of Turkish economy are in a good condition, he added. Lewis said that Turkey\'s contribution and the rate of representation in theIMF were rising.
