Indian Ambassador in Cairo Sanjay Bhattacharyya has hailed as "historical" trade relations between his country and Egypt.
Investments between the two countries are growing and promising, Bhattacharyya said Monday.
He made it clear that the volume of trade exchange between Cairo and New Delhi reached about five billion dollars.
India is considered the second market for Egyptian exports worldwide, the diplomat said.
Thirty-three Indian companies will be taking part in the Cairo Fashion and Tex fair that will be held in Egypt on October 1-4, Bhattacharyya said, noting that he is glad many Indian firms will be contributing to the event.
The companies will sure benefit from investment opportunities in the country, he said.
The diplomat also said that many Indian companies are already investing in Egypt.
The Indian Embassy in Cairo is expected to hold a press conference on Thursday in the presence of the chairman of the Indian Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council.
