Iran to help Pakistan in times of disaster

This was revealed in a meeting of the Pakistani Federal Minister and BISP Chairperson Farzana Raja with top Iranian government officials during her visit to Tehran. Head of Iran\'s Crisis Management Center Qaddami appreciated the efforts of BISP, and said BISP is doing a great service for humanity by helping those vulnerable who are the first to be affected by any manmade or natural disaster. Farzana Raja leading a high powered BISP delegation discussed issues of mutual interests of during various meetings and Iran agreed on extending mutual cooperation to BISP in various social sectors and humanitarian avenues. She assured all the possible cooperation from BISP to Iran as it will not only strengthen the relationship between the two brotherly countries but also benefit the most deserving people. Also, Iranian Vice-President for International Affairs Ali Saeedlou termed the relationship between the two countries old and deep rooted and said that both nations have skills and capabilities to have joint ventures in various fields. \"Both of our countries are full of natural as well as human resources and we should put our hands together to explore and polish the existing potentials,\" he added. The Vice President also congratulated Farzana Raja for her untiring efforts for empowering the women of Pakistan, and expressed the hope that Iranian organizations, in collaboration with BISP, would do a lot more for the welfare of the people. In another meeting with Advisor to the Iranian President on Women and Family Affairs and Head of the Women Affairs Center of Iran Maryam Mojtahedzadeh, the Iranian presidential advisor appreciated the good work done by BISP for improving the fate of underprivileged and marginalized segments of society. During the meeting, it was decided mutually to sign an MoU with BISP for extending mutual cooperation and collaboration for empowering the under-privileged women in Pakistan. Maryam Mojtahedzadeh appreciated BISP\'s idea for making the family as centerpiece of its interventions and also empowering the poor families through women and giving self respect and dignity to the whole family. She also said that BISP is completing the mission of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto for which the great leader sacrificed even her life.
