
Japan’s fiscal year 2015 general account budget requests reached a record 101.7 trillion yen (US$ 970 billion). It is the first time that the budget requests topped 100 trillion yen.
Total policy spending requests, including for social security, national defense, industrial development and public works projects, reached about 75.9 trillion yen, reported Japan’s news agency (Kyodo).
The Japanese Finance Ministry, meanwhile, sought a record 25.8 trillion yen for interest payments and other debt-servicing costs in the fiscalyear 2015 budget.
