Aeon, a leading Japanese retailing group, plans to build three large shopping malls in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province. The three shopping malls, scheduled to be open by 2015, will be located in the Dongxihu development zone, the Wuhan economic and technical development zone and the Jiangan District, sources with the Wuhan municipal government said. The total retail sales of consumer goods of Wuhan stood at 300 billion yuan (47.64 billion U.S. dollars) last year, government data showed. A Fortune 500 enterprise, Aeon Group has witnessed a fast expansion in the markets of China, Hong Kong, and southeast Asia in recent years.
