Minister of Agriculture, Akef Al Zoubi, during his visit to Russia, discussed efforts to ship Jordanian vegetables to the former Soviet republic via sea in coordination with the private sector to secure that county’s market with Jordanian agricultural products.
Al Zoubi, who led a public and private sector delegation to Russia, said it is important for both countries’ private sectors to coordinate and highlighted the adoption of Starova district as a distribution zone for the Russian market.
Earlier, the government held meetings of the joint Jordanian-Russian committee and signed, sealed and delivered a customs cooperation agreement to facilitate customs exchange between the two countries.
During a meeting with Russian private sector representatives last month, Al Zoubi said the ministry is ready to provide the Russian market with its need of vegetables and fruit.
