JBA President, Hamdi al-Tabaa
Amman - Petra

The Joint Jordanian-Romanian Business Council held its second session today in Amman to address possibilities of establishing new ventures between the two countries.
The session was organized by the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) and the Romanian Bilateral Chambers of Commerce.
The JBA President, Hamdi Al Taba'a, spoke about cooperation in the energy, tourism and services sectors such as higher education, healthcare and information technology, and asked the Romanian businessmen to take advantage of the investment allowance under the free trade agreements, which open Arab and international markets for Jordanian products.
He also said that the investment climate and geographical location of Jordan enable it to become the gate to the regional markets, noting that Romania can be a gateway for the Jordanian products into eastern European markets.
The Head of the Romanian Bilateral Chambers of Commerce, Nasty Vladoiu, indicated the fruitful visit of the Jordanian economic delegation to Bucharest last year, which resulted in the establishment of the Joint Business Council.
He also expressed willingness for more cooperation between the private sectors in both countries to promote trade, which is still below expectations, to overcome regional turmoil, and cooperate bilaterally or through third party states such as Gulf Arab states and North Africa.
