The Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has affirmed its keenness on achieving closer relations with Ukraine, especially the economic ties between the two countries are below expectations.
Political tension in Ukraine affects the flow of Kuwaiti investments there, KCCI's Deputy Abdulwahab Al-Wazzan said on Monday while receiving a visiting Ukrainian delegation.
These tensions will stabilize and not last forever, he said, noting the Kuwaiti side should build strong economic relations with Ukraine.
He said that the delegation suggested a number of projects for cooperation in the fields of agriculture, construction, petroleum, tourism and insurance, adding Ukraine is considered a huge store of foodstuffs.
The Ukrainian companies that manufacture equipment for oil offered their services to Kuwait, he said, adding the visit aims to promote common economic ties.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian side said that the visit seeks to set up trade and investment partnerships, noting Kuwait is a significant market for Ukraine.
