
Morocco and Switzerland have announced their intention to strengthen cooperation and partnership in the field of water resources management.
Charafat Afilal: Moroccan Minister Delegate to the Minister of Energy, Mining, Water and Environment, in Charge of Water said following discussions in Rabat, with Doris Leuthard, Head of the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications in Switzerland.
“The two sides discussed the prospects of developing a model for sustainable development in order to address the scarcity of water resources in some areas of Morocco.”
For its part, the Swiss Minister expressed her country’s readiness to work for the development of viable cooperation projects with special focus on the axis of water and health.”
In September last year, a framework agreement for technical and financial cooperation as well as humanitarian assistance, was signed between Morocco and Switzerland. The agreement aims to advance the process of risk and disaster management, especially by supporting equipping and the exchange of expertise and technical assistance in the areas of training and micro technology
