Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak Thursday chaired the Bumiputera Economic Council (BEC) meeting at the Bangunan Perdana Putra, here.
The meeting discussed initiatives and programmes to empower the Bumiputera economy before Najib, who is also the Finance Minister, tables the 2015 Budget next Friday, Malaysian news agency (Bernama) said today.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Idris Jala, Treasury Secretary-General Dr Mohd Irwan Sarigar Abdullah, Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Abdul Rahman Dahlan, and Chief Executive Officer of the Bumiputera Agenda Coordinating Unit (TERAJU) Husni Salleh attended the meeting.
Malaysia set up Bumiputera Economic Council to replace the Bumiputera Agenda Action Council, as the leader in drawing up the strategy to empower the Bumiputera economy.
