A Russian ship carrying a shipment of 1,500 tons of high-quality citrus left Lattkia port on Saturday evening, heading to Novorossiysk port in Russia.
Executive Director at the Lattakia Containers Station Company Mazen Nassir told SANA that this shipment, which is the second of its kind, was loaded in 54 refrigerated containers, and is part of an agreement between Syria and Russia on exchanging goods.
The first shipment left Latttakia on November 17th. These shipments, which are transported via the direct line between Lattakia and Novorossiysk that is being used for the first time, will continue at a rate of around 25,000 tons of citrus per month until the end of April 2015.
