Germany's unemployed population falls again in September to about 2.8 million, the Federal Employment Agency announced on Tuesday.
Compared with August, the unemployment figure in September drops by 94,000 to 2.808 million, which is 41,000 less year on year, according to the figures of the Nuremberg-based agency.
And the unemployment rate comes to 6.5 percent nationwide, 0.2 percent less than it was in August, it added.
"The fall is normal at this season of year, but the falling range is not so strong as last years," said Frank-Juergen Weise, head of the agency.
In Germany, many companies hire again after the traditional summer break, and the new round of companies to look for trainees also begins as usual in September.
