The 15th session of the Omani-Iranian joint economic committee met here on Wednesday under co-chairmanship of Omani Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali Al-Sunaidy and Iranian Industries, Mines and Trade Minister Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh.
Emerging from the meeting, the Omani minister said in a news statement that the committee had mainly discussed ways and means of boosting two-way trade exchange which hit one billion US dollars in 2012-2013.
The joint committee also thrashed out means of cooperation in the air transport field between both sides, and agreed in principle to launch a new flight to an Iranian city, apart from the existing Tehran route, he said.
A possible agreement in the field of veterinary quarantine and agriculture and basic industries was also considered during the committee meeting, the Omani minister pointed out.
