Paris has already transferred more than 1 billion euro to Moscow, in compensation for the termination of the contract on the delivery of two Mistral-class helicopter carriers, a governmental source told journalists Monday, according to Sputnik News Agency.
According to the source, all expenses were covered in France’s compensation, including travel and personnel training.
"The money is already in Russia. In the end the sum is more than a billion euro. Overall during this time we have spent 893 million euro, for the first ship and a part of the second ship. We stopped paying after this sum," the source told the press.
Moscow and Paris signed a 1.2-billion-euro agreement for the purchase of two French Mistral-class helicopter carriers in 2011
