South Korean President Park Geun-hye vowed Wednesday to support further expanding business cooperation between South Korea and Italy on the second day of her visit to Italy.
She arrived in Italy late Tuesday to attend a biennial summit of more than 50 Asian and European leaders and a separate summit with the Italian president and the prime minister, according to Yonhap News Agency.
On Wednesday, she met with about 150 South Korean and Italian business leaders on the sidelines of the two-day Asia-Europe Meeting, known as ASEM, which is set to begin in Milan on Thursday.
She said there is a very big potential for economic cooperation between the two countries.
Park asked South Korean and Italian business leaders to pay close attention to each other as partners for trade and investment.
"The South Korean government will spare no efforts through various channels to ensure you can expand cooperation," Park said at their meeting.
