Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese
President Xi Jinping met on Sunday evening ahead of the Asia-Pacific
Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit of 21 Pacific Rim countries and
regions, dpa reported.
Both sides pledged to expand mutual support and cooperation, despite
"changes in the international arena" according to Russian news
agency Itar-Tass.
"Whatever changes happen in the international situation, we
should follow the chosen line, should expand and develop
the overwhelming mutually advantageous cooperation," the
Chinese leader was quoted as saying.
Putin said cooperation between Russia and China is "extremely
important" Itar-Tass reported.
