
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reviewed with Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Sherif Ismail the joint deals signed with Italy during the last visit by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab to Italy.
Ismail pointed out that the agreements aimed at conducting new projects for oil and gas explorations, developing Egyptian refineries, and boosting cooperation between the two countries in exploration industry.
The minister expounded to Sisi the last exploration by the Italian Eni Corporation to a gas field in Nile Delta with a 15 billion cubic meter reserve of natural gas.
He briefed Sisi about the new deals of oil and gas explorations, and the mounting investments by international companies in this field.
Sisi stressed the importance of steadily paying off dues to oil and gas companies and reducing the country's debts to them.
The president also ensured the availability of butane gas cylinders to residents.
