South Korea's jobless rate inched down in August from a month earlier and job creation accelerated thanks to more employment in the manufacturing, retail and service sectors, a government report showed Friday.
According to the report by Statistics Korea, the jobless rate stood at 3.3 percent last month, down from 3.4 percent a month earlier. The seasonally adjusted jobless rate, however, rose to 3.5 percent from the previous month's 3.4 percent.
