Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Labour yesterday received, in his office at the ministry, William Lacy Swing, Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).During the meeting, Ghobash discussed the progress witnessed by the UAE and the requirements in terms of brining skilled labour, so as to raise productivity of the labour market in the state, in addition to contributing in the development of knowledge -economy in accordance with the policies that will increase national human resource employment opportunities in the private sector.He also reviewed the measures applied by the ministry in terms of controlling and regulating the work of private employment agencies to minimize any negative practices, that might be carried out by them.Lacy Swing hailed the role played by the UAE and its related initiatives to improve the management of temporary contractual work cycle, particularly the Abu Dhabi Dialogue initiative and the subsequent meetings of the countries who are sending and receiving labours.A number of officials also attended the meeting.
