As part of the visits made by the diplomatic missions and consulates in Dubai to the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, vice-chairman of to the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, received Elif Comoglu Ulgen, Turkish Consul General, who was heading a delegation from the Consulate. This meeting was attended by Dr Yousef Al Akraf, chairman of the Logistics Committee of the World Energy Forum 2012, and Khawla Al Mehairi, vice-chairman of the Media Committee of the Forum. Al Tayer welcomed the Turkish Consul-General in Dubai and stressed the importance of coordination and collaboration of between the UAE and Turkey and highlighted the two sides of pursuit to strengthen the mutual relationships and promote collaboration in the field of energy to higher levels. “This meeting is a good opportunity for the two sides to share expertise, especially in the fields of trade, tourism and energy which will promote Dubai’s position as a global hub for finance, business and tourism.” Elif Comoglu Ulgen, the Turkish Consul-General in Dubai highlighted the importance of Dubai’s position in attracting the most important countries in the fields of energy and sustainability. The DSCE vice-chairman briefed Ulgen on the 15th Wetex, which will be organised next year and said: “Wetex has made itself an ideal global platform for showcasing and discussing vital matters, including water, energy, preserving natural resources and sustainable development. We call for companies to participate in the next Wetex 2013, which will be held in conjunction with Dubai Global Energy Forum (DGEF) 2013.” During the meeting, the two sides tackled the WEF 2012, which will be organised under the sponsorship of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Invitations have been sent to heads off states as well as ministers of energy to ensure active participation. The Turkish delegations expressed their interest to participate in this global event and in both Wetex 2013 and DGEF 2013.
